Dusty Hunting

Another polish post, forgive me ;)

I've seen several girls posting in my facebook groups about something called 'Dusty Hunting' - for those of you who aren't into the nail polish world, it's where you go into nail salons and ask if they're selling any of their older polish. You then take a look through their inventory to see if you can find any good, HTF, or pretty nail polishes!

I was super nervous but finally worked up the courage to try it. A lot of girls have found some pretty amazing polishes in these old salons, so I figured it couldn't hurt to try. The worst I'd hear is 'No!'.

I think it's safe to say I am now officially addicted to Dusty Hunting. I've only been doing it about 2 weeks now and look what I've found so far:

From left to right: CG Spin Me Round, CG It's My Turn, CG Let's Do It In 3-D, OPI DS Vintage (brand new), and OPI DS Vintage (1x)

Left to right: OPI DS Chiffon, OPI Melody in Mocha, and OPI Man of La Mancha

And last but not least:

MY PRIVATE JET (brown holo)!!!!!!

I admit. I may have broken into a sweat when I found it. I am so excited!!!!!!

I am so happy with my finds, and now I have a new hobby. I've been hitting every nail salon I see ;)

Spring Weekend

This Spring marks the first Spring in 4 years that I've actually been able to enjoy myself! The last 3 years were spent working for an accountant during tax season, aka never seeing the light of day. Now that I don't work there I've been trying to take advantage of my new-found freedom!

I've gone to several movies, volunteered at a children' art festival, gone shopping and had lunch with my mom several times, gone to an open house at a visual arts center, went to New Jersey last weekend, and this weekend I volunteered by pouring beer at a street-art festival! It was awesome, here are some of the murals that they were working on:

Crazy, right? These are all done by hand, on these forklift things. It was so cool.

Not quite as cool...but RC has been working like a maniac in our front and backyard. Our gorgeous Azaleas are finally blooming! The whole yard looks amazing.

And the award for Cheesiest Photo of the Century goes to.....

Me! But I had to include it..Look at her sticking out her little tongue! She is too freaking cute. Diva ;)

I am so happy I no longer have to work crazy overtime during tax season. Obviously I'm enjoying the hell out of it! Hope you're enjoying your spring weekends, also. Xo

PS. Yes, I really am that pale. Lucky me!

Addicted?

I think we all know I'm obsessed with nail polish. I've made that pretty clear, right? Well I've been on a no-buy ban the past two months and haven't purchased ANY. Craziness.

Welp, the ban is officially over. I most have lost my damn mind because I bought two polishes at $15.50 (!!!) a piece. So I spent a total of $31.00 for two polishes. Gulp.

But at least they're bombdiggity.

X on the line

I bought a new car last week. Hell yes.

It's beautiful and it's all mine.

The best part? The inside lights up pink. PINK. PINK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's a 2012 Ford Escape Limited. Yes, I bought a brand new car. Yes, I know it depreciates the second you drive it off the lot. Thanks assholes who try to rain on my parade. Too bad I didn't buy a brand new car so I could turn it in months later.

We looked at used 2011's, but when you buy a new car you get factory incentives and lower interest rates. It came down to buying a used 2011 with 16,000 miles on it, or buying a brand spanking new one for only $2,000 more. That $2,000 brings peace of mind with warranties, a program similar to AAA(free towing and other cool perks)...for free, and free oil changes/rotations/wiper blades/filters/etc, all of which don't come on a used vehicle. I'll take it! (and I did..obviously.)

Her name is Giuliana, and she has butt warmers. She also talks to me.
We're kind of in love.

Time to put on your big girl panties!

Happy Birthday to the biggest Diva I know!

Miss Carly Anne.

The first picture we ever got of her:

Look, ma! All grown up!

The big day is Saturday (shooooot, you know I'm not wasting time blogging on a Saturday - hence this post being the day before) and we've got some fun plans for the day that include taking a trip to PetSmart and going to the dog park.

I told her that now that she's a big girl, she needs to sleep through the whole night. Considering she woke me up 6 times last night, I don't think she's buying it. It's a shame.

Happy 4th birthday my little princess!
